Join the National CHW Policy Coalition! The Coalition is officially launching the week of October 19
As you all know well, CHWs are some of the most trusted and effective members of our health workforce. Yet too often they still lack professional recognition, fair pay, sustainable financing and career pathways. The Coalition exists to change that, and the more of the field we bring together, the stronger our voice will be.
The Coalition are a national, CHW-led alliance of community health workers and allies, united to advance professional recognition and sustainable financing for CHWs. Together, we build power and move policy at the state and federal levels, so that CHWs are recognized, fairly compensated, and sustainably integrated into the health system for the long term.
Why join the Coalition
When organizations stand together, policymakers and funders see a field aligned behind CHWs, and that alignment moves policy. Add your name to a growingly unified field!
Be part of coordinated federal campaigns. This fall, the CHW Access Act was reintroduced in both the House and Senate, and the CHW Awareness Week Resolution is gaining cosponsors in both chambers. Members help drive this work and decide when to join each campaign.
Connect across states. Our monthly national meetings offer policy updates, campaign calls to action, and peer learning with CHW leaders and allies from across the country.
Shape the Coalition from the ground up. As an inaugural member, you'll help set the Coalition's direction as we launch.
What membership means
We ask members to share the Coalition's values and commit to upholding them and to joining us in collective action and power-building. Joining does not mean endorsing every Coalition activity, and you can always opt in or out of specific campaigns.
We welcome CHW associations and networks, public health departments, community-based organizations, hospitals and health systems, and other CHW employers, advocacy groups and coalitions, health and social policy shops, movement organizations, foundations and more. Membership is currently limited to organizations with a primary focus on U.S. health and/or social justice work.
