SimpleFile NJ (Child Tax Credit)

Learn how eligible New Jersey families can receive $1,000 per child through the New Jersey Child Tax Credit—even if they have low or no income or do not usually file taxes. We'll share information about the credit, introduce SimpleFile, a free and simplified filing tool developed in partnership with the New Jersey Innovation Authority and the New Jersey Division of Taxation, and discuss outreach strategies and messaging that can help more families claim the money they’re owed. Food Safety and Disease Prevention

This session will highlight the importance of food safety, including recognizing foodborne illness symptoms, understanding serious health outcomes, and learning the four key food safety practices: Clean, Separate, Cook, and Chill. It will cover common foodborne illnesses, pathogens, symptoms, risk factors, and how illness spreads, along with risky foods, safer food choices, and meal-prepping practices. Participants will also learn about recalled foods, refrigerator cleaning, food safety during power outages and emergencies, and seasonal safety practices such as summer grilling and picnics, holiday meal preparation and storage, and safely handling fresh produce from farmers markets. To learn more and to register, please click here.
